There you go Jeremy.. you're in Pie2k again. And I can even draw you bald too since you shaved your head. w00t!
I think I'm gonna move Pie2k into arc "2" in the next strip. Which should be Thursday, by the way. I've committed myself to a Tuesday-Thursday schedule for the rest of the summer. I know that seems rather ineffective with less than a month to go, but I didn't really think about it much until the webcomics panel at Otakon. One of the things they emphasized is to keep a regular schedule. So, you've got Penny Arcade on MWF, MacHall on MF, and Megatokyo on a theoretical MWF if Piro can manage it. So T-R seemed the logical choice. Why put myself in competition with my favorites? I can update frequently, and evenly paced, on their off days.
The reason I'm moving to arc "2" (which is really the third, but I'm a C++ junkie so I start counting at 0).... Well the last time I shiftied, I said that each arc would be basically a semester. Arc 0 was Fall 2001, Arc 1 was Spring 2002. Now, Arc 2 will be Fall 2002 because I've pretty much gotten all the strip ideas out that hinged on being in the Spring or Summer season. Nothing much is set to change. A few new things will happen (which is why I'm starting the new arc... don't wanna run running gags across 2 arcs... I'm too anal-retentive for that), and at least until September they will be happing twice a week like clockwork.
I would like to send out a special thanks to Lisa for being Pie2k's first generous benefactor. Lisa donated a month's worth of server costs, for which DJ and I are very grateful. For those of you who opt not to donate (and I don't blame you really) I'm designing some T-Shirts/Posters and DJ's gonna set it all up with Café Press. I'm not sure on the pricing... I'll probably just adopt DJ's pricing scheme. We'll see.
Well, it's 1:00 AM. I should have had this up an hour ago. Oh well. Ian and Matt at MacHall still have not updated their Monday comic, so I don't feel so bad. (Also, I went randomly perusing the Keenspot comics... I don't feel so bad about my content either now... for every RealLife, RPGWorld, and Avalon, there are like 5 terrible comics where you get the feeling the author isn't trying at all) I will not name names for the bad comics, but I will name one name. Mike Rosenzwieg of Everything Jake. While I'm not a big fan of his story-telling style, I find his artwork to be absolutely fantastic. I admire it, and the amount of time and effort he must put into every strip. To use a term from the Tycho Brahe dictionary, it's an eyegasm.
Just a quick rundown of links to the stuff I talked about in this rant.
