Okay, let's try this agian. My computer decided it was gonna turn off randomly.
     There's a reason this strip is called "Emergency Post." It's something I just threw together so that I could get this rant up here. I needed to explain the whole PayPal donations link over there.
     Technically, my little brother D.J. runs the site. It's on his Prohosting account and he takes care of the bills. Also, I'm far behind him in Perl scripting, so he did the site conversion (from VBScript to Perl) and then I did some minor touch ups. Unfortunately, unlike Keenspace, Prohosting costs money. Don't get me wrong,... it's a great service. For $35 a month, we get more storage space than we need for this site (400 MB) and more transfer than we will probably ever use. Even if we were getting 1.5 million hits a month like MacHall, with 15 GB transfer/month, we could give everyone a megabyte per hit.
     Now, while I'd love to get paid for doing this strip, lord knows it just isn't gonna happen. But, we hope, through donations and (later) items for sale, to offset the cost of hosting. Our short term goal is to pull in half the hosting fee per month (about $17).
     DJ has probably got some plan going, but he hasn't told me about it yet, so I only have to guess. I personally will feel bad taking your money with nothing in return, so I guess this ends up being the T-Shirt design incentive. We'll see, though.
