Time since last Pie2k: 1 month, 12 days. I'm so utterly fucking sorry for my laxidasical attitude toward Pie2k recently... I've been a little swamped with projects and work recently... and honestly, when you spend all of your time doing computer work and programming, you don't wanna sit down and do something that requires effort. You wanna collapse into a chair and shut your brain off for a few hours.
Things are going well here at college. I'm doing well in classes, I just got done with my oral presentation in Fowler's class a few days ago and I'm still feeling like I dodged a bullet. I was totally irresponsible in preparing for it... I didn't contact Kim soon enough and because of it she went through a lot of stress and apprehension. Luckily, The Color of Distance is a totally enthralling book with dozens of layers of meaning. We didn't really have to try that hard to get the entire class wrapped up in a powerful and meaningful conversation about the book. For the first time in weeks, we didn't stray far off topic. :)
MFC is by far my most favoritest class this semester. Well... not by far, but it's definitely on top (Feminist Science Fiction rocks, but the severe reading requirements get at me). MFC (or Windows programming for those of you who aren't up on your geek acronyms) is an interesting topic, and I'm one of the only people out there who give a damn about Windows, so I find the class enthralling.
Work is work... there's not much to say about it. Every day I go in, make some web pages, leave. Soon we'll be redesigning all of the first and second level pages of the school site, which will be awesome, and also we might redesign the intranet completely because it's become a fucking mess. Also, check out the Online Guide to Community Living, which is the last major project I worked on. It may not be all that exciting, but I think I did a good job of making a solid page with a lot of helpful information. Also, don't blame me for the "under construction" RHA section... they didn't give us content, but they gave us a deadline... how counterproductive.
Rasa just moved into the Village apartments. He's in apartment 10, the bottom left door (under the staircase). It's a fucking beautiful place to live in... we'll see how the apartments themselves flavor the social structure of the residents. (live on a campus long enough and you realize that each building has it's own attitude, mostly because each promotes a different type of socializing and communication.) I'm pretty sure, though, that we're gonna shoot for one next year... whoever "we" ends up being. Right now I'm pretty sure I'll live with Commie and Rasa.... probably the fourth will be Mike if he wants to. Dunno... we've got enough time that we haven't really talked about any serious plans yet.
So, I'm not gonna prommise a new Pie2k anytime soon... but eventually. I will probably have the time for a few during Thanksgiving break. And before everyone makes a federal case out of it... Yes, I'm staying here. No, I don't wanna go to your house for dinner. I'm perfectly happy staying in solitude. I live with 3 other people, though it usually is around 6-10 people in the apartment. I'm thankful for the time I'll have this week for some quiet introspection.
