Okay, so here it is, the first ever Pie2k comic strip. It's called "Introduction" and, although it doesn't really act well as an introduction, I think it's still pretty cool. It's just a way to stick a bunch of characters in right at the start. Screw development... my philosophy is "here are some characters... enjoy!"
     Now, the reason I wanted to do this comic is a strip called "Megatokyo." It kinda inspired me to do a comic strip as opposed to the books I've been trying to make because the pacing and schedule seemed not only easier, but much more fun. Also, doing this has allowed me to work a bit on my ASP coding. (For example.... I was going to use a high-overhead Access Open Database Client to keep track of the strips. Instead, I made a text file that holds the information about the strips. A strip in that file looks like this:

     <comic>
     <name>Introduction</name>
     <img>pie2k_00_00.jpg</img>
     <rant>pie2k_00_00.txt</rant>
     </comic>

     Now isn't that easy? I thought so, and that's why I used that instead of an Access database. Also, if I am ever forced to remove my page, I could easily move the database over to the new server and re-write the parser in Perl/CGI. Ah,... now you see the advantage of a text database!
