Rant show/hide

Sorry about the short rant in advance. I have to get to sleep so I can catch the morning bus and get to work on time. I know that a lot of people close to me are kinda rolling their eyes right now because they're tired of hearing me complain about the bus, but I'm just gonna air my real complaints here:
     1. Exact fare
     2. The 756
Well, that pretty much sums it up. The NJTransit 756 bus runs from Englewood to Paramus and back, and it never even remotely matches the schedule. In the morning, it's like 10 minutes early, so I miss my transfer every day and have to wait in a parking lot for about 30 minutes for the next one to come. Then, when I'm leaving work, it comes like 10 minutes early again, meaning I have to knock off work early to catch it at all (but I usually can't because my releif comes late). Of course, sometimes it comes late, so I miss my 709 transfer, and sometimes it just doesn't come at all.
Other than that, it's fine. I picked up a CD player so I'll stay a little more entertained, and waking up early is going well, as long as I get to bed on time. Also, I think I'm gonna apply for a job at HP that Beth mentioned to me. It turns out that the Hewlet Packard office that's offering it is directly along the 756 route, and I can most definitely get there at a reasonable time in the morning (both things I had doubted before this whole bussing excursion). That means that even though I don't have my car insurance yet, I still have reliable transportation to and from work if I get a job there. This is priority A #1.
At any rate, the booze thing may require a bit of explaining if you haven't read the strip. Bill and Jon gave Rodney some Bombay Saphire at Otakon 2002, to a good response. The next year, I got in on the act and Bill, Jon, and I gave Fred and Sara (Sarah?) a bottle of Crown Royal (as they got a bottle full of lucky stars, but no booze earlier that con). So this year, we decided that we'd go for 3. We cornered Matt and Ian and asked them outright what they like. Turns out Matt prefers rum, and Ian doesn't drink, but likes Coke. So we got them some Rum and Coke. We also decided to get Randy Milholland a bottle of Captain Morgan's since it's pirate themed and his apartment was totally flooded about a week ago. When we went to distribute the spoils, though, it turns out that Matt, Ian, and Randy were all out enjoying the splendor of the con. Cheers to them, actually, for being some of the only webcomic artists who were actually out having fun at the convention.
PS, there's more stories to come about messing with all the Mac Hall folks. I haven't forgotten. mwahahahahahahahaha
PPS. Check out the pic of us on Jes' gallery. Left to right, it's me, Bill, and Ed as we tried to sell each other for $12.99.
