Hah! I bet I had Kelly and Beth going there for a mintue. I bet they both thought they were gonna get to kick some ass (like they both told me I should put in this strip). I still don't understand Kelly's extreme hatred toward Skylar, nor Beth's newfound hatred for Monkey, but I like the characters, so there'll be no senseless beating.
     For those of you who keep track (or who can read the page title), this strip marks the 2 year anniversary for Pie2k. Technically, the anniversary was last Firday (August 1st), but I didn't wanna jam it together with the 100th strip. I think next year, I will try to separate the two a little, but like always I'm just gonna keep my fingers crossed and hope I can stick it out for another year.
     If you look at last year's 1-year rant, you'll notice that I mention that everything in Pie2k is based, in some meager way, in real life. Ironically, Bill was the one who pushed that back in my face, since he's a big supporter of Monkey. I guess I should learn from last year's mistakes and not make any promisses for the next year.
     Also, if you're getting to like the color style ... tough luck. I only wanted to use it for these two special strips. Drawing the panels separately, copositing them, and then doing all the color work has taken me about 4 hours for each of these strips. I'll be going back to the tried-and-true grey style for Thursday's strip. I might take a cue from Ian and Gabe and cover Otakon with a sketchy style (since then I could draw strips while waiting in line for MAT3k or Naze Nani Megatokyo, or if I just have some hallway downtime).
     For those of you concerned with my well-being, I'm feeling pretty healthy these days. My ear infection seems to be going away (finally... it started about a month ago). I'm practically able to hear full-well out of my left ear again. There's a dull ringing, but that'll hopefully go away in a few days. I really don't notice it unless I have total silence. It started clearing up yesterday, and it was really nice to listen to music in stereo at work for a change.
     Well, it's a quarter after 3, so I'm gonna try to catch some Z's. I still have work tomorrow, though with getting caught in the rain this afternoon and all, I could probably call in sick if I'm too tired and my boss would think nothing of it. But that's only in the case of an emergency. They're better off with a groggy me than an absent me.
     I love you Beth, and I hope you find a good trade-in for your family. :P
