Rant show/hide

Okay.... I'm gonna add a little extra rant right now as I haven't been able to post recently (with finals and then packing up all my supplies). Now, I don't want to paint an unfair picture of my roomates, but they all left a ton of stuff behind for me to "take care of." Taking care of it ranges from "Do whatever you want with it" to "Hold onto it until I can come back for it."
What makes this annoying is that I don't have a car, so I have to rely on Bill's kindness to get me from here to The Village (the opposite side of a very hilly campus, for those who don't live here) and I've got this pile of stuff to "take care of." Keep in mind this is only most of the pile, and what you don't see is an office chair, a stool, 2 monitors, a microwave, and a toaster that go with it. Now, a lot of it's forgetfulness, which is fine. But when you take all my stuff and put it next to that heap, you've just about got an even match. I don't mind holding onto a few things, but damn. This pretty much doubles my moving haul.
I will probably end up throwing a lot of this crap out. I don't need the bench, that's for sure. There's also no humanly way for me to get it over there. Maybe if Commie wants it that much, we can roll it over on the office chairs (which probably won't fit in Bill's car and will have to be pushed across campus).
On top of that, the apartment is a wreck. I expected to be the one stuck with the cleaning. It makes sense... after everyone leaves and there's no one to get in the way and the apartment is largely devoid of stuff, that's the prime moment for cleaning. Unfortunately, the apartment was far from "devoid of stuff" and I ended up wasting a lot of time just trying to get things even slightly in order. I move out tomorrow afternoon, and I still haven't had a chance to touch the bathroom. I don't know exactly how I'm gonna get this all done, but rest assured it'll be a miracle.
---
Yeah, this was a real conversation we had recently at latenight. It pretty much went like that, but more -v. (sorry, stuck in Unix mode, -v = verbose)
So, sorry about the lack of updates. Tryon had my scanner, and at the time I got it back I was innundated with work. It happens... a lot. Tomrrow I've gotta get my summer housing forms in. We've been waiting to hand them in b/c we need the housing extension forms, but Res Life doesn't have them in yet. Argh! We're gonna be giving them incomplete paperwork because they only have half the forms to fill out. On top of that, we're probably gonna get reamed for submitting late, even though we were late because we were waiting for them to get their acts in gear. It's so very annoying.
We're getting around to crunch time at the end of the semester, so don't expect much in the way of updates. I have a term paper to write for Tuesday, and some stories to read for Wednesday. I have a calc 2 quiz on Friday, and of course Senior Project is forever looming overhead. On top of that I have to think about summer housing and getting funding for Fall housing. On a good note, with my better spending (or not-spending) habits, I'm pretty close to the $2,900 mark, which is what I paid for housing last year. Knowing Res Life, though, they've probably arbitrarily doubled that. I don't know... I have some time to figure it out, but not much.
Well, I'm gonna go spend some time with Beth, so I'll cut this rant short. I would complain more, but it's depressing tired complaints about not having enough money and college being so expensive. Oh well.
