Ugh.... I feel like crap tonight. It's not my health or anything... it's a combination of an uncomfortable chair at work, 8 hour shifts that I don't normally work, and the third night without heat in a row. It doesn't do good for muscle aches when you fall asleep in a 40° room. I did get a nice new standing lamp from Staples... it's a 6' standing floor lamp that cost me $12 and takes a 150 Watt 3-way bulb. One thing you learn about lighting your room on a budget is that the lamp itself is mostly inconsequential compared to the bulb. And at 150 Watts, that thing sure does brighten up my little space here.
     As far as stuff relating to the page itself... I may revamp my drawing style a little. I'm thinking I'll take a cue from MacHall and simplify my line art a lot more. For example,... if someone is making a fist, it's not deathly important that I draw every finger. To be honest, I really love to do that kind of detail, but it's starting to get a little time consuming. Tonight's strip took me about 4 hours overall. Granted, that includes a tid bit of TV and socializing time.... but overall that's way too much... especially when it's a strip with just Kelly in 3 panels in a row.
     Also, I have a couple of images to scan from my "Random Cartooning Art" folder which should have been scanned in weeks or even months ago. I just need to sit down and get in some quality scanner time. I won't guarantee fine art, but they're some decently drawn images and I'm eager to get them online. And if you haven't looked at it yet, check out the "Other Projects" section of the page.... there are some good pictures, some animations, and even a couple of programs that I made in there.
     A bunch of my friends either have started blogging or just gave me their URL's this past month or so, and it seems like a cool practice, fun and cathartic, a good spot to vent. I guess with the comic and the rant, I don't really have much left for a blog, though. That's okay... when I have something I have to rant about, it provides some motivation to draw a comic. On the upside, I get some more comics done than normal. On the downside, I probably rant more to you guys about angsty stuff than I really should. Oh well. Time for me to go read some blogs and go to sleep.
