Rant show/hide

Well, I guess everything I said about getting a schedule together to get a lot of Pie2k done isn't hapening. On the good side, though, I was able to get away from my old design scheme without hurting the look of the page. I'm fairly proud of it. It's an illustration of what can be done when you're at work and bored out of your skull.
I'm sure somebody out there someday, if they ever stumble across this page will say "Dammit, if you made it on a mac, you should have that logo on your page." No! I redesigned a minor part of the surface of the page on the mac... technically I redesigned it on paper and then used Photoshop to make some graphics, but the point is that the Mac was such a miniscule part of the process that to put a little "made on a mac" thingy on it would dis-respect the hours I've put into creating the content on paper and on my PC. Even the new redesign was just barely started on the mac and then finished on the PC... I only did the comics page on the mac, and even then without any code. I finished design, added the neat little "current comic" thing on the bottom, added the code to track which comic you currently have open (so it doesn't keep defaulting back to the newest), and converted over all of the parsing code on my PC.
In the end, though, the main reason I don't have "made with a mac" on my page is that I've been doing this for too long to give a shit about the petty little Mac/PC rivalry. "This page made on a mac." Whoop-de-fucking-doo you made a text file. Give yourself a pat on the back! It must've take massive amounts of processing power to do that! Knock it off! You don't see me going around putting a little "Made on a PC" logo on all of my pages.
A web page can be a piece of crap or a work of art or any place inbetween. The fact of the matter is that the deciding factor on where your page stands is you. So before you pop open Photoshop and attempt to make a beautiful logo that you'll stamp on your page declaring its origination hardware, change your slogan and proudly proclaim "Made by Me."
